It seems the Mexican Americans are not as tolerant of the U.S. flag as Italian, German, Irish and other Americans. To celebrate your heritage is a great thing, but in the end, the American flag belongs to all of us.

When school officials are banning the American flag to protect students, we have a problem.

Everything seems to be out of control. Have you seen the video footage of the large groups of students marching around and protesting, waving the Mexican flag - and they were protesting the 4 boys that wore t-shirts with pictures of the American flag.
It is obvious things are way out of control when 4 boys can't wear the flag of the country we all live in - only to be met by mobs of other students with Mexican flags chanting in protest to the 4 guys.

Way out of hand. There is no excuse for being told you cannot wear a picture of our flag in our own country.

I did see the footage. That's what was disturbing. American flags are welcome on Saint Patrick's day, Oktoberfest, etc. But an American flag is an insult to Mexican Americans? That's wrong. The American Flag belongs to all of us.

These mexicans arent welcome in our country. The only reason why they arent deported is that the Democratic party is uses them for votes. This has been happening for decades and the end result will be very much like what has happened to the African American community. our government is at fault and needs to take responsibility. How can my government assert its laws upon me while it turns a blind eye to 30 million law breakers?
"In the first place we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the man's becoming in very fact an American, and nothing but an American...
There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag, and this excludes the red flag, which symbolizes all wars against liberty and civilization, just as much as it excludes any foreign flag of a nation to which we are hostile...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."
--Theodore Roosevelt, 1907

We need to stop the political correctness nonsense. 'Bout time people in this country figure out what most immigrants have figured out - that we are slowly letting our rights and freedoms slip through our fingers.

Rodriguez told the students he did not want any fights to break out between Mexican-American students celebrating their heritage and those wearing American flags, the parent said.
By doing what he did, Rodriquez essentially wanted only his heritage celebrated. Cinco de Mayo is a Mexican holiday. Next year I hope they all load up and take the school bus down there and have a big time.
AND these flag shirt boys have been warned about possible Mexican gang retaliation? Our country is turning into Mexico!
Our politicians and president are hugging it out with illegals while elbowing citizens in the face.

Minor correction. Cinco de Mayo is not a Mexican holiday. It's only celebrated in the U.S. But you are correct that it celebrates Mexican heritage.

SeattleDad you are incorrect.
Cinco de Mayo commemorates the Mexican army’s unlikely victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. Granted I will concede that American companies used the holiday to sell more alcohol.

this is a prime example of what is truly wrong with our country. racism, bigotry and ignorance are diseases that affect everyone, regardless of ones makeup. this whole story is so ridiculously absurd and disturbing.

This is a public school in California. Arizona type opinions about latinos hold no water in the state of Californis, so, get over it. So callled minorities rule in California.

And its the f'n mexicans that are marching and threatening violence.
Wake up America. We are being invaded and our government opened the doors wide.
